With Participation of 350 Students, Road Race Sets off at Tanta University
  Translated by\ Mona Mohammed Faheem At ten o'clock today morning, Prof. Ibrahim Abdel Wahab Salem, Acting President of Tanta University, gave the starting signal of the first stage of Road Race organized by Youth Welfare Administration at the University in cooperation with Sport Union of Egyptian Universities under the slogan "No to Terrorism". The race set off in front of the gate of Tanta Sport Stadium past Faculty of Engineering to University Stadium at Faculty of Physical Education. A complete round was run at the track to the finish line for registration with participation of 350 male and female students from different faculties of the University in addition to a number of students with special needs. Prof. Ibrahim Salem has confirmed that students' participation in sport activities included in the plan of student activities drawn up by University Administration for the current academic year helps to enhance the spirit of honorable competition among students and promotes their patriot feelings. He has called for making a cup bearing the name of University President that teaching staff, students and employees of the University will compete to gain. Moreover, Prof. Moddather Taha Abo Al-Kheir, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, has indicated that the top ten runners of students, five of persons with special needs and five employees will represent Tanta University in the second stage of the National Road Race at the level of universities organized by Aswan University on January 29, 2017. At the end of the race, University President honored the top ten winners by granting them medals and certificates of appreciation. Furthermore, financial awards were given to the top three winners of students and persons with special needs. The race was held in attendance of Prof. Azza Al-Wesami, Dean of Faculty of Physical Education; Dr. Magdi Wakwak, Sport Activity Consultant; Prof. Hani Al-Said, Vice Dean of Faculty of Physical Education for Education and Student Affairs; Mr. Gamal Hamza, General Manager of Youth Welfare, and a big number of teaching staff and students.
