Tanta University President Inaugurates Scouts' Festival in Faculties Participation of 7
  Translated by\ Mona Mohammed Faheem Prof. Ibrahim Abdel Wahab Salem, Acting President of Tanta University, inaugurated the twelfth guide festival for male and female scouts of faculties of the University that is organized by Scout and Public Service Administration at the General Administration of Youth Welfare. He was accompanied by Prof. Prof. Moddather Taha Abo Al-Kheir, University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and consultant of male scouts in Gharbia jointly with deans of faculties that participate in the festival and a group of teaching staff members. Seven faculties compete in the festival: Law, Medicine, Physical Education, Arts, Nursing, Education and Commerce in a number of fields such as art, exhibitions, scout, cultural, religious, recreational, tournament, leadership, public service, community development, scout behavior and overall appearance. Prof. Ibrahim Abdel Wahab Salem called for the necessity of practicing student activities that are considered the soul of the University. He added that scout festival was a distinguished activity inside the University to prepare a student equipped with science and skills to face the following practical life with skills of self-reliance, solving crises and using available capabilities during practicing scout activity. He confirmed that the University provided all means that facilitate accomplishment of its goals regarding bringing up strong generation capable of giving and invading the future with confidence and persistence. For his part, Prof. Moddather Abo Al-Kheir indicated that scout activity was considered one of the most significant fields of cooperation that could gather abilities to fulfill desired aims. He pointed out that the core of scout activity was making use of all available energies and abilities whether human or physical so as to achieve success and superiority. Prof. Moddather added that he would present a request for allocating an area of land at the University to establish a permanent scout camp for continuous training and good preparation for specialized and apical meetings. Prof. Ibrahim Salem agreed to the suggestion made by University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and added that the matter would be presented to construction committee at the University for consideration; then it would be presented to University Council for final approval. After the inauguration of the festival, leaders and groups of male and female scouts from faculties of the University were honored in attendance of Dr. Amr Al-Shehi, Consultant of Scout and Public Service; Mr. Gamal Hamza, General Manager of the General Administration of Youth Welfare; Dr. Omar Abdel Fattah, Manager of Scout and Public Service Department. Moreover, the festival shield was granted to Prof. Ibrahim Salem and Prof. Moddather Al-Kheir in appreciation of their important role in encouraging student activities and providing suitable environment for practicing them. At the end of the inauguration Prof. Ibrahim Salem headed for University Hostel for Male Students to have lunch with scout groups of faculties of the University jointly with deans of faculties that participate in the festival and a number of teaching staff members.
