Rewards of teaching


• The Council approved in principle disbursing the teaching bonus of summer months to teaching staff for teaching pre-master students in different specialization at faculties of the university except for the periods in which study stopped. The condition of teaching share does not apply to this bonus provided that it is consistent with the internal bylaws of faculties. The matter must be presented to Postgraduate Studies Council to draw up needed rules.
• The Council approved granting director of schools or their headmasters a bonus for supervising students of Education general diploma with the system of one year on the basis of 4 hours weekly provided that the supervision bonus is not more than 6 hours weekly in stages of licentiate, bachelor's and general diploma.
• University Council approved applying adopted rules for the curricula of practical education at Faculty of Education issued by Education and Student Affairs Council at the University for postgraduate stage through indentifying 4 hours in practical education for general diploma with the system of one year and two years.
• University Council approved to give four hours weekly for general supervision to the general supervisor of practical education in the diploma with one-year system at Tanta Faculty of Education. This will be generalized to the rest of divisions at the Faculty.
• In its session held on February 4, 1997, University Council approved the decree of Postgraduate Studies and Research Council made in its session of January 8, 1997 as for considering postgraduate exams at Tanta Faculty of Education in rounds of June and September as two rounds when calculating marking bonuses in a way that does not contradict with stipulation of article 287 of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law.


Bonus for Discussion of Theses for Employees Who Are Not Teaching Staff Members

The bonus of scientific theses (master's and PhD) for employees who are not teaching staff members: The last paragraph in article No. 293 of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law stipulates that assistants and technical workers at the departments in which theses are discussed in addition to employees at administrations of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Delegation and the Library are granted a bonus of one hundred pounds for a master's thesis and two hundred pounds for PhD thesis. The total of these sums is distributed to workers according to the rules devised by Postgraduate Studies and Research Council at the University provided that the bonus granted to each one is no more than three hundred pounds annually.


Decrees of Postgraduate Studies Council Regarding Bonuses of Theses

In its session held on February 20, 1998, Postgraduate Studies and Research Council decided to approve devising regulations for disbursing a bonus for scientific theses (master's and PhD) for employees who are not teaching staff members through distributing the sums allocated for these bonuses according to the following rules: 75% of the sum is allocated for the faculty and 25% is for the University and distributed as follows:


Practical Faculties

• 50% of the sum allocated for the faculty is for assistants and technical workers at scientific departments in which scientific theses are discussed. The sum is distributed according to the number of theses granted by the department during the period of bonus entitlement.
• 35% is for employees at administrations of Postgraduate Studies and Research, Delegation, Scholarships and Library. The allocated sums are distributed based on lists ratified by Faculty Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
• Theoretical Faculties
• 40% of the sum allocated for the faculty is for employees of Postgraduate Studies.
• 25% is for Delegation and Scholarships.
• 25% is for the Library.
• 20% is for scientific departments at where scientific theses and discussed provided that the sum is allocated based on the number of theses granted by the department during the period of bonuses entitlement.
• In its session held on June 15, 1999, Postgraduate Studies and Research Council decided to amend the decree issued on August 20, 1999 regarding disbursing bonuses of scientific theses (master's and PhD) to employees who are not teaching staff members to put into effect the stipulation of article No. 293 of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law through transferring the proportions allocated for assistant administrative bodies to the proportion of Postgraduate Studies provided that Postgraduate Studies identifies the persons who cooperate with it to accomplish these theses and adds their names in the lists of Postgraduate Studies as follows:
• 40% of the sums allocated for Postgraduate Studies and assistant bodies are for Postgraduate Studies.
• 35% is for the General Administration of Cultural Relations.
• 15% is for the General Administration of Libraries.
• 10% is for the office of University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.
• These sums are distributed to employees at University administrations according to lists ratified by University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research


Bonuses of Administrators for Oral Exams

In its session held on December 30, 2002, University Council issued a decree approving the formation of an administrative committee formed from employees at the faculty and the University and assistant lecturers at the faculty to cooperate in preparation and organization of exam works. Each member takes 20 sessions. No payment for sessions will be disbursed for them. However, a comprehensive bonus will be disbursed to the assistant committee that is 20 days for each round of exams provided that a decree about this is issued by specialized Faculty Dean. Bonus of applicable and oral exams is disbursed only at faculties whose internal bylaws stipulate this disbursement. In its session held on December 31, 2013, University Council issued a decree approving excluding names of assistant lecturers from works of oral exams.


Disbursement of Travel Allowance to Internally Seconded Persons

On September 10, 2000, University President approved the legal opinion regarding the right of teaching staff members at Faculty of Dentistry who are internally seconded without pay for teaching in private Egyptian Universities to have their travel expenses reimbursed from their addresses to the headquarters of the bodies to which they are delegated for participation in works of exams (diploma, master and PhD) according to the adopted rules after getting the lists prepared for this purpose ratified by Faculty Dean to put into effect article No. 296 of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law No. 49 of 1972.
