Rewards


• Article (285) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Faculty Dean has the authority of assigning exam duties to teaching staff members, all teaching personnel and other employees.
• Article (repeated 285) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: teaching staff members, assistant lecturers and demonstrators are granted financial incentives to ensure achievement of objectives, and optimizing performance according to rules drawn up by the Supreme Council of Universities. A decree is issued by Minister of Education regarding these rules.
• Article (286) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Bonuses are granted to the following for exam duties:

o Persons appointed from outside the University to accomplish these duties.
o Persons delegated from one faculty to another provided that they undertake these duties in addition to their original duties in their faculties or departments.
o Teaching staff members, assistant lecturers, demonstrators, language instructors and persons delegated for teaching from outside with total bonuses if they undertake a duty of the following:

- Holding exams for students who apply from outside if a special exam is held for them.
- Marking exam sheets.
- Examining researches that are presented in postgraduate exams, discussing them, participation in discussion of master’s and PhD theses.

• Working in general control committee that includes organizing stages of exam, recording, revision and preparation of exam results.
• Observation duties in exam rooms.
• Article (287) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Bonuses for marking written answer sheets are determined according to what the examiner marked of these sheets based on the following:
• First: exams for moving onto the next year, final exams for licentiate and bachelor’s degree, equivalency of these degrees and exams of postgraduate studies are one pound for each answer sheet provided that the grader does not receive less than one hundred pounds for each subject with a maximum of five subjects on the level of a faculty. The total of marking bonuses that a grader is given cannot be more than 1500 pounds on the level of the University.
• Second, for exams of nursing school and assistant nurses, the grader gets fifty piasters for marking each answer sheet provided that the total bonus received by the grader is not less than thirty pounds for each subject.
• Third, each curriculum that ends with an exam is considered a “subject” when calculating the bonus of marking answer sheets of written exams.
• Article (288) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: If scientific choice led to marking sheets, the bonus is estimated on the basis of thirty piasters for each sheet provided that the bonus is not less than twenty pounds for each subject.
• Article (289) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Examiners of oral and applicable tests, teaching staff members and original and delegated employees who attend exams get bonuses for attending these exams as follows:
• If the examiner is one of teaching staff members, a governmental employee, an employee at public bodies or bodies of the public sector or an employee at companies of Public Business Sector, he is granted a bonus of 4% of the monthly salary for each one of exam sessions and 60% for delegated persons to universities or faculties from outside the city of his university or faculty. For this stipulation, Cairo and Giza are considered one city.
• If the examiner is not one of the above mentioned categories, Faculty Council determines his or her bonus.
• In all cases, the bonus for each oral exam session cannot be less than four pounds, except for examining students of Nursing School for which the bonus of each session is not less than one pound.
• In all cases, the minimum of students' number in each oral or applicable exam session is five students or the number of registered students for exam based on which number is less.
• Article (291) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: A bonus of 3% of the monthly salary is granted for each work day to those who work inside general control committees of teaching staff members, assistant lecturers and demonstrators in addition to instructors form outside the teaching staff.
• Article (291) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Supervisor of a master's thesis is granted a bonus of four hundred pounds after the judgment committee discusses it with a maximum of four hundred pounds in the academic year. If there are many supervisors, the bonus is distributed to them equally. Assistants, technical workers at departments of the theses, employees in administrations of Postgraduate and Research, Delegation, Scholarships and Library are granted a bonus of one hundred pounds for a master's thesis and two hundred pounds of PhD thesis. All these sums are distributed to employees according to the rules devised by Postgraduate Studies Council at the University provided that the bonus granted to each one is no more than three hundred pounds annually.
• Article (294) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: A bonus of one hundred pounds is granted to each one who takes part in examining a thesis for master's degree and presents a report on it for discussion and to each one who participates in examining papers submitted for gaining awards. If one of the participants in examination of theses is from abroad, he is granted a bonus of five hundred pounds. In addition, the University pays the expenses of transferring the bonus. Supervisor of the thesis can get this bonus together with the supervision bonus stipulated in the previous article.
• Article (295) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: A bonus of two hundred and fifty pounds is granted to each one who participates in examining the thesis of PhD degree and presents a report on it for discussion. If one of the participants is from abroad, he is granted a bonus of one thousand pounds. The university pays the expenses of transferring the bonus. Supervisor of the thesis can get this bonus together with the bonus of supervising the thesis. Each member in the committee of qualifying exam for PhD degree is granted a bonus of fifty pounds with a maximum of two hundred and fifty pounds in the academic year for examiners at the level of one faculty. The maximum number of examiners in each committee is five members unless the internal bylaw of the faculty stipulates another number.
• Article (296) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Governmental employees or employees at public bodies, public institutions and their affiliated companies who is delegated for exam works away of his or her address gets travel allowance according to general bylaws. As for a delegated person from a category other than the mentioned ones, the Dean estimates his or her travel allowance and expenses.
• Article (297) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Examiners of practical education at faculties and at educational departments are granted a bonus of 4% of the basic monthly salary if he or she is one of teaching staff members, governmental employees, employees at public bodies or at public sector bodies, its companies or companies of Public Business Sector. If the examiner is not one of the above mentioned categories, faculty council determines his or her bonus.
• In all cases, the minimum of students’ number in each exam session is five students or the number of registered students according to which number is less.
• Article (296) of the executive bylaw of Universities Organization Law: Employees who are not teaching staff members and all teaching personnel whether appointed or delegated for exam works are granted a daily bonus of 3% of the monthly salary.
