Community Service and Environmental Development Sector aims to interact with external community through many activities and services offered by centers, special units and various faculties of the University. The Sector has assumed the responsibility of dealing with problems of the surrounding community and offering distinguished social services that participate in supporting the national economy. It aims to be an outstanding source of experience and knowledge for all who need accurate consultation. Thereupon, the Sector offers consultations in all scientific and cultural areas. It seeks to enhance and raise competitive capabilities of the centers and special units in order to develop self-resources of the University.
Hence, Community Service and Environmental Development Sector has a great significance as a main foundation on which the University depends in addition to education and scientific research. This social role makes the University an outstanding one.
Community Service and Environmental Development Sector seeks to raise awareness and disseminate culture in society and to protect the environment via assessment of the environmental impact, relating the University to industry, enhancing partnership with business sector and private sector and considering civil society needs. The Sector also determines possible partnerships and identifies their level in the light of available capabilities at the University through detecting community problems and drawing up plans to deal with them.
Furthermore, the Sector studies problems of production and role of applied research in solving these problems. It discovers and supports individuals talented at sport. It organizes cultural symposiums about significant topics in the framework of the directions of the political leadership as well as symposiums in other fields that serve community and the surrounding environment.
Finally, I extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone who participated in progress of the Sector from inside or outside the University. Hopefully, giving will be continuous and our prestigious University will achieve progress and prosperity.
