Holding a Workshop on Assessment of Registered Patents at GITTC at Tanta University

     Grants, Innovation and Technology Transfer Center (GITTC) held a workshop today at University Performance Development Center about assessment of registered patents under patronage of Prof. Magdy Sabaa, Tanta University President, in attendance of Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh, Manager of University Performance Development Center; and Prof. Abdel Fattah Zalat, Manager of GITTC.

  Prof. Kamal Okasha has affirmed that the papers that were submitted and assessed from the University and from outside included applied scientific papers in areas of energy, biomedicine, environment, water, communication and others. He has added that the main objective for assessment is to prepare prototypes for these innovations and to turn the outcomes of applied scientific research into marketable products with financial support from the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) as well as Grants, Innovation and Technology Transfer Center (GITTC) of the University.

  Moreover, he has indicated that the University will market these innovations and applied research outcomes to serve community and to develop economic resources.

  For his part, Prof. Mustafa Al-Sheikh has added that the assessment was conducted by a specialized committee that included Prof. Hassan Rashid, Dean of Faculty of Applied Arts; Prof. Mona Al-Gamal, Manager of Innovation and Intellectual Property Protection Office; Prof. Ramadan Maan, Manager of TICO, Prof. Amira Ashor, Acting Head of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Faculty of Engineering.
