According to the Dutch Leiden Ranking, Tanta University is the Seventh Locally and Advances by 46 Ranks Internationally

  Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, Tanta University President, announced that the university advanced in the Dutch CWTS Leiden Ranking in 2023 as it moved forward by 46 ranks compared to the last year. The university occupied rank No. 907 worldwide. In addition, it kept its local rank as it came the seventh out of 13 Egyptian universities that appeared in this ranking. In addition, it gained rank No. 16 at the African level based on the results issued in current June for the period 2018-2021.

    Furthermore, Prof. Mahmoud Zaki added that Tanta University gives great interest to world rankings as its strategy aims to enhance the university’s pioneering stature and to develop scientific research. He indicated that the university advanced in Leiden Ranking as a result of the efforts exerted to improve its rank regionally and internationally, to increase its competitiveness, and to achieve Egypt’s vision 2030.

    Moreover, Prof. Kamal Okasha, University Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, pointed out that the Dutch ranking depends on many indicators such as international publications indexed in Clarivate, quality of research, citations, and institutional and international collaboration to conduct research. He declared that the university published 1561 papers this year compared to 1334 last year. He added that the university got the 7th rank locally in health sciences, biomedicine, mathematics, and computer. In addition, it was ranked the eighth locally in physics, engineering, and life and land sciences.
