In Enhancement of Decent Life Initiative, Medical Care Services Were Offered to 1156 Patients at Tanta University’s Convoy in Kafr El-Zayyat Province

Distributing 1000 books to students of the preparatory certificate in the village

    Tanta University organized today a comprehensive developmental convoy in coordination with Decent Life Foundation to examine patients and to give them medicaments for free under patronage of Prof. Mahmoud Zaki, University President, in attendance of Prof. Mahmoud Selim, University Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, with participation of Prof. Mohamed Al-Shebeny and Prof. Sahar Al-Haggar, deans of faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy for community service and environmental development.  

    Prof. Mahmoud Selim declared that 1000 books to students of the preparatory certificate in the village as part of the aid convoys. Thereupon, the total number of the distributed books by the university is 3000 that were given to support students and sons of university personnel.

    At the convoys, 1156 patients were examined in 13 clinics and were given medicaments for free. In addition, 80 cases were transferred to Tanta University Hospitals to get the needed checkups and to continue their treatment for free. Literacy exams were taken by 154 citizens. Veterinary care services were presented to more than 1891 head of cattle and birds with participation of many academic staff members, doctors and pharmacists. In addition, 750 final revision books were distributed to preparatory students in the village. 

       It is worth noting that patients were examined in many medical specialties as follows: 79 patients were examined in neurosurgery clinic, 134 in pediatrics, 76 in orthopedic surgery, 131 in dermatology, 128 in internal medicine, 44 in urology, 135 in ENT, 14 in general surgery, 74 in the chest clinic, 43 in neuropsychiatry, 184 in ophthalmology, 34 in cardiovascular surgery, and 80 in the clinics of health initiatives and family planning.

   Furthermore, academic staff from Faculty of Nursing gave outreach lectures to citizens of the villages on self-check for breast cancer, diabetes and hypertension, psychiatric diseases, how to discover and treat them, maternal and neonatal health, complications of diabetes and how to deal with diabetic foot.
